What a story our St. Louis Cardinals have been so far during the first two months of the season. How about these young Cardinals? John Jay and Allen Craig are successfully hitting over the .330 mark. Hat's off to Eduardo Sanchez and Fernando Salas who are keeping batters guessing at the plate. And Daniel Descalso's multiple game-winning hits and great defensive play at third base, while David Freese recovers. Talk about stepping it up, these five players are a big reason why the Redbirds have hung on and are still in first place in the Central Division. Of course, Lance Berkman has been dynamite along with his offensive slugging partner Matt Holliday. How about Matt Holliday, Albert Pujols, and Lance Berkman leading in each of their positions in the All-Star game balloting so far. Keep on voting, fans!

What a weekend we have coming up for you in downtown St. Louis. The Chicago Cubbies roll into town this Friday for a three-game series. This is one of the greatest rivalries in all of sports and one of my favorite non-playoff baseball series to watch. The great Cardinal fans make this so much fun. Stay tuned for who may come on the radio show this Friday night for our Live at Shannon's post-game show. Also, this Saturday is the Mike Shannon's Celebrity night at the races at Fairmont Park which is a great fundraiser for CBC High School. Place your bets!

We would like to send our thoughts and prayers to all of our friends in Joplin, Missouri. I have decided to donate proceeds from every dessert sold at Mike Shannon's during the month of June to the devastation down in Joplin. Come on in and sample our spectacular desserts, and help our friends in Joplin at the same time.
