Welcome 2010, I hope you had a great Holiday Season and hope 2010 treats you well. Although we are a couple months out from the crack of the bat, I’m pleased with the way the 2010 Cardinal season is shaping up. I’m very excited to see Brad Penny join the Cardinals. He will be a positive addition to the Cardinal team and staff. If Penny stays healthy, I can see him winning 15 plus games. There is no doubt that Brad Penny is a tough competitor and can go deep into the game, which should complement well with Carpenter and Wainwright. With the Cardinals beefing up their offense by signing Matt Holliday and the addition of Penny, I like the way the Central Division is shaping up for the Cardinals. And who knows if there may be any more great signings before the Cardinals head down to Jupiter, Florida next month.
Congratulations to our former Cardinal manager Whitey Herzog. I’m very happy and excited to see Whitey elected into the Hall of Fame. He will be inducted on July 25th 2010 and his induction speech should be unforgettable. I would like to wish Mark DeRosa the best of luck in San Francisco. I was sad to see him go, but understand the circumstances and timing. We will still get to see him when the Giants come into town.
If you need some Cardinal action to warm you up during the winter come on down to Shannon’s and sit by the fireplace and enjoy a glass of our Shannon’s Reserve which continues to increase in popularity. Also, we are winding down on our final days of our $40 for 40 days menu, which is a 4 course meal for $40 in celebration of reopening of Highway 40.
I would also like to congratulate my daughter Erin Shannon McGowan and son-in-law Kevin McGowan for giving birth to their 6th child, Rafferty Shannon McGowan.
